Early in her career, Dorothy practised with a leading Toronto firm as well as Blaney McMurtry in Ottawa. She went on to establish her own practice in 1991, offering astute, sensible advice to growing businesses.

While serving her clients, Dorothy fed her love of critical thinking by acquiring an M.A in philosophy and world religions at the University of Toronto. To Dorothy, the law provides a rational framework for a functioning society and is not a set of arbitrary rules. This approach helps her to provide counsel that is knowledgeable and forward-looking.
